St Francis church
St. Francis Church in Ashford, Kent, built between 1958-59, originated as a daughter church for growing post-war communities, specifically serving new housing estates like Stanhope, and was constructed with a simple, Anglo-Catholic design under budget, with later extensions adding halls and modern facilities. It became part of the Ashford Town Parish and is known for its distinctive architecture, including stained-glass windows, and its function as a hub for the local community alongside St. Mary's Great Chart.

Architecture: Features a gallery at the west end, a simple stone altar, and a distinctive design with round-arched windows, originally built without separate halls or vestries.
Community Role: Today, it's a core part of the Ashford Town Parish, functioning as a local family of churches that provides services, community support, and activities for all ages.
