Heat or Eat Fund
Referral Scheme
The Heat or Eat Fund may be able to support you through a difficult season by providing a £100.00 Tescos gift Card to help with your food shopping, or by paying £100.00 towards your energy bill through the Post Office: www.postoffice.co.uk/bill-payments. In the first instance, we suggest everyone applies to the Kent Support and Assistance Service (KSAS) as they may be able to offer further assistance.
The Heat or Eat Fund was set up by Kingsnorth and Shadoxhurst Churches, in order to help those who are struggling to afford food shopping or heating costs in light of the rise in cost of living and energy prices.
In order to qualify for support from the fund you need to meet the following criteria:
- In order to be eligible, you must reside within the Ashford Town Parish, which includes Kingsnorth, Shadoxhurst, Ashford, Kennington, Willesborough, Great Chart, Singleton, and Sevington. Additionally, you must have a child currently enrolled in one of the listed settings, or regularly attend Kingsnorth or Shadoxhurst Church, or be a patient at the Kingsnorth Medical Practice.
- You must live on a low working income (less than £25,000 a year*) or receive a means-tested benefit if not in employment.
-
You must be referred to the fund by one of the following professionals: Kingsnorth parish councillor, Shadoxhurst parish councillor, School Staff at Kingsnorth C of E Primary or Furley Park Primary, School staff at John Wallis Academy, Staff at Little Acorns Pre School, Staff at Kingsnorth Little Stars, Staff at Footprints Preschool and Nursery, Kingsnorth Medical Practice GP, Kingsnorth and Shadoxhurst Churches Local Leadership Team.
The fund is limited and we will not be able to help everyone that applies. If you meet the criteria above, please complete our referral form. Once you have sent in your application we will be in touch within 10 days with a decision. We will only award one grant per family. Once the fund is depleted we will notify those able to make referrals, to avoid disappointment.
