A safe space to explore life, faith, and the big questions.

Youth Alpha is a relaxed, welcoming lunchtime group for young people who want to explore questions about life, purpose, and faith. It’s designed especially for schools and creates space for honest conversation, curiosity, and respectful discussion with no pressure and no expectations. We’re delighted to be running Youth Alpha at John Wallis Academy as a lunchtime club.

🗓 When & Where:

Starts: Tuesday 20th January

Runs for: 8 weeks

Final session: Tuesday 17th March

Time: 13:00 – 14:00 (lunchtime)

Location: John Wallis Academy

🍕 What happens each week?

Each Youth Alpha session includes:

  • Food/snacks (you bring your lunch — we’ll bring extras)

  • A short video exploring a big question

  • Time to talk — students can share as much or as little as they like

The videos open up conversations around questions like:

Is there more to life than this?

Who is Jesus?

Why do bad things happen?

What about prayer and faith?

There are no right or wrong answers. Youth Alpha is about listening well, thinking deeply, and giving young people space to explore.

👋 Who is Youth Alpha for?

Youth Alpha is open to:

  • Students who are curious about faith

  • Those who aren’t sure what they believe

  • Those who don’t believe, but enjoy asking big questions

  • Anyone who wants a calm, friendly space to talk and think

  • You don’t need to be a Christian.

  • You don’t need to know the Bible.

  • You just need to come as you are.

💬 What Youth Alpha is (and isn’t)

✔ A safe, respectful environment

✔ Voluntary and open to all

✔ Questions are always welcome

✖ Not a lesson

✖ Not an exam

✖ Not about being told what to think

Youth Alpha is run in line with school values and is designed to support students’ personal development, wellbeing, and reflection, while respecting different beliefs and viewpoints.
